Built-in active preamp

As powerful as the original SM7B sounds, many studio pros say its output is lacking. To provide a good output signal, professionals link the SM7B with an in-line booster. SM7Bs with built-in active preamps make the Shure SM7dB the right answer. The SM7dB’s preamp offers +18dB or +28dB gain, and you may bypass it for original SM7B functioning.

You may use the SM7dB anywhere you would use its predecessor with the same results; just leave your in-line booster home.
