Description

Sarangi is a Traditional musical instrument made of khiri (khirro) wood, introduced by the Gandarva community Of Med Western Region. It has four strings, and you play it by rubbing the strings together with a bow (Dhano).

The sarangi is crafted from a single block of wood and hollowed out, featuring a box-like shape. It usually has three main playing strings, made of gut or steel, and a set of around 35 to 40 sympathetic strings. These sympathetic strings run underneath the main strings and resonate sympathetically when the main strings are played.
