Ibanez introduced the Ibanez GSA60 Electric Guitar, in 2000 as a solid body electric guitar model in the SA series. It is produced in both China and Indonesia as part of the entry-level GIO line. Ibanez GSA60 was one of the original models in the SA series and has been in production since, making it the longest running model in the series and one of the longest continuous production runs across the entire Ibanez line.
The GSA60 is among the most affordable of the SA series and S family. Notable differences with other SA models are the agathis body (later replaced by mahogany) and the placement of the output jack which is on the side of the body rather than the top. Other features are Ibanez pickups and a synchronized tremolo bridge.
The Maple neck provides stability and bright tonal character.
Ibanez Infinity pickups deliver an accurate and tight sound with excellent dynamics. Even under heavy settings, they do not lose tonal clarity.
The T102 bridge with 10.5mm string spacing allows easier picking across strings.
This guitar is light enough for amazing comfort, dense enough to provide the tone and sustain that players expect from its 3D shaped body.
When the pickup selector switch is in the neck position, it selects the neck pickup. If the switch is in between the neck and center position, it selects both the neck pickup and the center pickup. When the switch is in the center position, it selects the center pickup. If the switch is in between the center and bridge position, it selects both the center pickup and the neck side of the bridge pickup. Finally, when the switch is in the bridge position, it selects the bridge pickup.
With the guitar held in the playing position, there is one knob and one switch along the lower edge of the body. Closest to the neck is the five-way pickup selector switch. Closer to the input jack is the tone knob. The volume knob is located right above the five-way pickup selector switch.
