The Fender Vintera ’70s Jazz Bass Guitar has a sleek J Bass offset-waist body, fast-action neck, two Vintage-Style ’70s single-coil pickups, a 3-ply black pickguard, and classic ’70s block inlays, inspired by Fender’s improvements in its second decade. Fender’s Vintera ’70s J Bass is easy to play and allows for tight runs and rhythms. Of course, it has the famed punchy snarl of Fender Jazz Bass pickups.
VINTAGE STYLE FOR THE MODERN ERA
For players who want the style and sound of the Fender’s golden era, we created the Vintera® ‘70s Jazz Bass®. Equipped with the coveted features that defined the decade—including period-accurate neck profile and playing feel, along with re-voiced pickups—this bass has all the growl that made the J Bass® famous.
We revoiced the single-coil Jazz Bass pickups for realistic tone. The J Bass’s gritty, snarling tone made it popular. For traditional playability, the “’70s C” neck includes a 7.25″-radius bonded fingerboard with pearloid block inlays and 20 vintage-style frets. A 4-saddle bridge with threaded saddles and ‘70s stamped open-gear tuning machinery provide vintage-era looks, rock-solid performance, and tuning stability.
