This Road Worn Fender Flea Jazz Bass replicates the tone and attitude of the bass player that helped the Red Hot Chilli Peppers top the charts. The worn-down paint and neck plate engraving of Flea’s ’61 Jazz Bass are mirrored in this instrument. The Fender Flea Jazz Bass’s standard 1.5″ nut and 7.25″-radius rosewood fingerboard make it one of the most comfortable instruments you’ll ever play.
Flea’s funk- and jazz-inspired basslines helped the Red Hot Chilli Peppers top rock and alternative charts and redefine bass. Flea’s distinctive approach rejuvenated music for four decades, prompting numerous bassists to add funk and explore new techniques and harmonics. We rebuilt his Shell Pink ’61 Jazz Bass, which he borrowed from a fan to record Stadium Arcadium, The Getaway, and Atoms For Peace, to honour him.
The vintage-authentic nitrocellulose-lacquer finish lets the body wood resonate naturally. The Road Worn finish shows Flea’s playing kilometres.
In a special touch, the neck plate on the Flea Jazz Bass is engraved with a logo designed by Flea himself.
This bass’s vintage-style pickups give it a 1960s Fender bass sound, appearance, and feel.
