Description
The Fender American Vintage II 1963 Telecaster accurately recreates a solidbody electric guitar. The year-specific Pure Vintage ’63 Telecaster single-coil pickups provide jangly, silky, sparkly tones with a twangy bite in the ’63 Tele’s balanced solid mahogany body. This guitar’s 1-piece, “C”-shaped maple neck and vintage-radius, round-lam rosewood fingerboard make it easy to play.
The American Vintage II 1963 Tele features knurled knobs, 3-barrel bridge, vintage tuners, nitrocellulose lacquer finish on body/neck—an homage to ’60s Telecaster enthusiasts and Fender history admirers.
GLOSS NITROCELLULOSE LACQUER FINISH
Nitrocellulose lacquer, as used on ‘50s and ‘60’s Fender instruments, is a premium finish that reveals the instrument’s true tonal character.
ALDER OR MAHOGANY BODY
Alder has a well-balanced tone with beefy mids and a robust low-end. Mahogany is a warm sounding wood with smooth mids and sweet highs.
7.25” RADIUS ROUND-LAMINATED ROSEWOOD FINGERBOARD
The 7.25”-radius fingerboard offers vintage playing comfort, complemented by taller frets for smooth note bending.
1963 “C”-SHAPE NECK
In vintage years, the shape and thickness of Fender guitar necks varied tremendously. The American Vintage II Series offers a variety of authentic neck profiles from Fender’s past.
PURE VINTAGE ‘63 TELECASTER PICKUPS
Pure Vintage pickups recreate era-specific tones, mirroring Fender’s golden age, using cloth wire, fiber bobbins, and alnico magnets.
VINTAGE-STYLE HARDWARE
Every part of American Vintage II hardware, from bridge to tuners, is faithfully crafted to replicate the originals’ appearance, sound, and functionality. Much of the American Vintage II hardware is still manufactured on the original ‘50s and ‘60s era Fender factory machines.
