The Cloud Microphones 44-A Active Ribbon Microphone delivers those sought-after sounds in a modern form. Cloud 44-A’s ribbon is still handmade to RCA’s 1930s specifications. Everything else is 21st-century-engineered. The 44-A, an active ribbon mic with vintage ambiance and current performance, has Cloud’s Cloudlifter circuitry and Voice/Music response curves for silky-smooth, ultra-clean response.

Cloudlifter technology, for pristine, transparent gain
The Cloud 44-A’s phantom-powered Cloudlifter technology gives any preamplifier “ribbon” gain. The Cloudlifter is invaluable for lengthy cable lengths. The Cloud 44-A needs phantom power and outputs at a current preamp level.
