4 pickup modes accommodate any recording task
Stereo multi-pattern condenser microphones cost considerably more. It’s surprising that Behringer managed to cram BIGFOOT with three basic polar patterns—cardioid, omnidirectional, and figure-8 (bi-directional)—plus a spacious-sounding stereo pickup mode. BIGFOOT is versatile, particularly given its low price.
BIGFOOT’s cardioid mode captures the sound in front of it for rich, full-bodied voice and instrument recordings. However, certain instruments may need two microphones or a costly stereo equipment to record in stereo. BIGFOOT saves! Its large, authentic stereo soundfield is great for piano, drum overheads, choruses, chamber ensembles, and more.
Omnidirectional pickup mode records sound evenly from all directions, making it ideal for round-table podcasting and capturing the “you-are-there” feel of a rehearsal studio live band recording. Bidirectional (figure-8) mode is ideal for face-to-face recordings like two backup vocalists on one microphone. Its side rejection of ambient sound is useful in many live sound settings.
Onboard monitoring and control
No matter the setup, BIGFOOT makes recording easy with its built-in monitoring and control facilities. Plug your headphones into the 3.5mm audio out jack at bottom of the mic. You can monitor your voice in the ’phones and control the volume. BIGFOOT also has an onboard hard mute switch that can be a life-saver in certain live stream situations! BIGFOOT works with any USB-equipped computer, tablet, and mobile phones that support USB power. On Windows machines, an ultra-low-latency ASIO driver for PC audio optimization is available for free download at behringer.com.
