An update of Orange’s popular Crush Pix bass combo amplifiers, the Orange Crush Bass 50 injects excitement into your practice sessions. Loaded with features from their higher-end OB1 and 4 Stroke amps, Orange infused the Crush Bass 50 with lots of sound-shaping power, courtesy of an active EQ and parametric mid control. A ported cabinet imbues this 50-watt powerhouse with ample low end. All-analog circuitry reproduces the classic warmth favored by such iconic bassists as Geddy Lee, John McVie, and Glenn Hughes (and many of us here at Sweetwater). The Orange Crush Bass 50 bass combo amplifier – who knew that jamming in your apartment or dorm room could be so much fun?
Featuring an EQ circuit inspired by the 4 Stroke Series, the Crush Bass 50 offers a parametric mid band for greater sound control. With a wide range of 300Hz to 2.7kHz, this amp can be fine-tuned to suit any music style. Active circuitry allows for up to 15dB boost/cut on bass and middle frequencies and up to 20dB on the treble side.
We have lifted the Blend and Gain controls straight from our popular OB1 Series amps, as a nod to the many bass players who experiment with guitar and bass amps simultaneously. With these controls, layers of harmonics and distortion from the guitar amp can be blended with the core bass tone to create the ultimate full-range live sound. The Crush Bass 50’s Gain and Blend controls add extra bite and crispness to the tone at lower gain settings and can create all-out filth with the dials cranked. The optional FS-1 footswitch can engage these controls remotely, making it ideal for fattening your tone on the fly.
The Crush Bass series delivers fat, rounded sound thanks to an all analogue signal path. The Crush Bass 50 houses a 12” speaker with a reflex port for improved low-end response.
The headphone output features our Cabsim circuitry which emulates the response of our stage-ready OBC bass speaker cabinets during silent practice. This signal can also be sent to a console for seriously authentic direct recording. The Aux. Input allows for connecting external audio sources for backing tracks whilst the handy onboard tuner makes for quick tune-ups between jams.
