The Flight TUC-50 Concert Travel Ukulele uses laminate walnut for the sound board. Walnut is stiffer and denser than mahogany, so its tone is brighter, as bright as Koa. The beautiful grain, paired with our hand-drawn salad design, is popular throughout the world. Â The ukulele also incorporates an ABS body, neck, fretboard, and bridge.

Laminate Walnut
Sound board and headstock are laminate walnut on the TUC-50. Luthiers love walnut’s elasticity. Because Walnut is denser and stiffer than Mahogany, its tone is brighter like Koa. Rosewood and Mahogany share midrange with open grains. It looks great too! Beautiful texture and hand-drawn Salamander design are winning lovers worldwide!

ABS Neck & Fingerboard
The neck and fingerboard of this ukulele are made from ABS plastic.  The TUC is resistant to changes in climate conditions and is easy to clean and maintain.  You will never experience  a sharp fret or bent neck with any of our Travel ukuleles.  The surface of the ABS neck has a wood pattern, which offers a better tactile experience than smooth plastic.
Pitch perfect quality
A zero fret paired with unique bridge construction keeps the string action low and intonation on point. Since the plastic is never going to react to climate conditions, you will never have to adjust the action on your ukulele.
