TBX™ TONE CIRCUIT
The Duff McKagan Precision Bass has a control knob that activates its TBX (Treble Bass Expander) tone circuitry. The center-detent knob works like a normal tone control from zero to the detent. Turning the knob clockwise from the detent increases presence and brightness, while turning it counterclockwise from the detent rolls off high frequencies.

A “P/J” pickup configuration—a pummeling split single-coil Precision Bass® middle pickup and a dazzling, snarling Jazz Bass® bridge pickup—gives the Duff McKagan Precision Bass its versatile tone.
