You get 4 M/Es, 40 x 12G‑SDI inputs, 24 x 12G‑SDI aux outputs, 4 DVEs, 16 Keyers, 4 media players, 4 multi viewers, 2 SuperSource and standards conversion on every SDI input! Then when switched to 8K, all these features combine to make a powerful 8K switcher! You even get built in talkback and a professional 156 channel Fairlight audio mixer with EQ and dynamics! That’s an audio mixer so big, you can connect and use a full Fairlight audio console! ATEM Constellation 8K has also been designed as an ideal upgrade for ATEM Television Studio
The ATEM Constellation 8K has 40 independent 12G-SDI inputs with separate up- and cross-converters to upscale any format to 8K. When running 8K formats, you may connect up to 10 Quad Link 12G-SDI 8K sources in all formats up to 4320p60. In HD or Ultra HD, you can connect up to 40 sources. The ATEM Constellation 8K’s 24 independently routable, completely customisable 12G-SDI outputs can route any external SDI input and all internal sources. Want separate program feeds, clean feeds, or outputs for onstage projectors or video walls? The ATEM Constellation 8K lets you operate several switchers with bespoke feeds simultaneously. All outputs have embedded program audio, mix minus, RP-188 embedded timecode, SDI camera control, tally, and talkback.
Here we appreciate how easy it is to take control of the Blackmagic Design ATEM Constellation 8K. For starters, its ATEM Television Studio-inspired front panel gives you incredible power with both PGM/PVW or cut-bus-style operation. You get the same premium buttons used on Blackmagic’s full-sized hardware controllers, enabling you to take full command of transitions, upstream/downstream keyers, media players, and fade to black. Talkback is also on tap, and the ATEM Constellation 8K’s LCD menus provide full access to all functions. Need more control? No problem. The ATEM Constellation 8K is compatible with the full gamut of Blackmagic’s hardware control panels, including the ATEM 1 M/E, ATEM 2 M/E, and ATEM 4 M/E Advanced Panel controllers. You can also deploy the free ATEM Software Control application, which gives you absolute control via your Mac or Windows-based PC.
Mixing audio with the ATEM Constellation 8K is no problem, thanks to its built-in 156-channel Fairlight audio mixer. You get 80 mixer channels that are de-embedded from the unit’s SDI inputs, while an additional 64 audio channels are input via MADI in. Each input channel boasts a high-quality 6-band parametric EQ, compressor, limiter, expander, and noise gate, plus you get full control over panning.
