The Audient iD44 MKii USB Audio Interface is an updated take on the original iD44. The second-generation iD44 MKii has loopback, better audio performance, and a 9dB ADC dynamic range. This 20 x 24 USB interface contains four Audient console microphone preamps, two JFET instrument inputs, class-leading converters, ADAT expandability, and a DSP mixer. The mic preamps use Audient’s ASP8024-HE console’s circuit architecture, which reduces noise and distortion while retaining analog flavor.. And with 60dB of gain on tap, you can use your favorite low-output ribbon mic on subdued sources. The unit’s two DI inputs provide harmonic enhancement modeled after the input stage of a classic tube amplifier. .

Greater headroom than ever

One of the hallmarks of the original iD44 was its high-performance AD/DA conversion. The iD44 MKii ups the ante with its improved ADC performance. Audient’s team of engineers pulled out all the stops to improve the Total Harmonic Distortion Plus Noise (THD+N) figure by 9dB. With its new THD+N figure of 112dB, you’ll notice you have more headroom, experience less audible distortion, and reduce noise in your signal. With its outstanding conversion capabilities, all you have to do is press record. The iD44 MKii does the rest.

Connectivity to handle any recording or streaming situation

With its two optical input and output connectors, the iD44 MKii enables impressive expandability. It supports both ADAT and S/PDIF, ensuring flawless integration with your outboard gear. It also adds up to 16 channels of mic preamps to your rig. Two fully balanced insert points make it easy to integrate your outboard gear before conversion, letting you quickly insert your favorite vintage mic preamps, compressors, or EQs. Do you host a livestream in your spare time? You’re in luck! The iD44 MKii’s built-in loopback functionality makes livestreaming a breeze. Console-style monitor control

Taking inspiration from Audient’s extensive analog console design heritage, iD44 features extremely flexible monitor control functionality that includes dedicated talkback, cut, and dim buttons along with polarity, mono, speaker selection, and cue mix monitoring. You can assign all monitoring functions to three programmable function buttons — without menu diving for inscrutable software-controlled features! Simply assign the monitoring functions you require and take control of your session.

Up to four stereo artist cue mixes

iD44’s mix-focused iD Mixer software lets you create up to four stereo artist cue mixes. Additionally, it allows you to name and customize channels, save layout presets, assign hardware function buttons, quickly set up advanced routing, use presets in standalone mode, and much more. The iD Mixer software is tightly and elegantly integrated with the iD44 hardware, which streamlines the recording process by giving you complete control.

Powerful “center-section” functionality

A console’s center section is its nerve center for communications and monitoring control, and the iD44 is intelligently designed to replicate this powerful functionality. The iD44’s dedicated talkback technology lets you use any audio source connected to your computer as your talkback mic. This frees up valuable mic preamps while offering an effective talkback solution — no matter where you are. Press a button, and the iD44’s volume encoder becomes a virtual scroll wheel, allowing you to take control of your DAW, plug-ins, and more — as if you were adjusting a piece of hardware. Quickly dial in settings, tweak faders, or even write in automation without spending time staring at a screen.
